Are You Organized?
Hello everyone! It’s been awhile.
The last few months of 2013 brought with them some health issues that shall I say, kind of took over my life. Luckily, I was still able to do hands-on organizing but had little energy left for much else. Things had to go away for awhile, and one of them was this blog.
2014 is here now, and with it, still some health issues, but a new lease on life and a confidence that things are going to get much better! It is January after all, and with January often comes a new outlook on things and resolutions to live a better life.
One of the top 5 things people resolve to do every year is to get more organized.
The question is, what is “more organized”? What does being organized really mean?
organized adjective: arranged or planned in a particular way
Most people would describe an organized space or person as neat, orderly, methodical, systematic, systematized or structured.
Most people would describe a disorganized space or person as haphazard, nonsystematic, chaotic, messy or disorderly.
And some people think that if they can find something they are looking for, they are organized.
As an Organizing Expert, I would describe organized as being able to find what you need WHEN you need it.
Not in 5 minutes, not in 10 minutes or more. An organized person can find what they are looking for quickly. No digging through piles or digging through boxes to find what is needed.
Now, I don’t want you to think I am perfectly organized because I am not. There are times I misplace things. There are times I lose things. And it usually happens when I don’t have a system in place or I haven’t used a system I have in place.
There are many different ways to go about making getting organized a reality, and with each person it is different.
Which way will work for you?
